we're looking to visit thailand for 12 months later in the year.(from the uk). would we need a visa for our 2 year old daughter, would she need to come with us on a visa run.

Does your daughter have her own passport?

The new rule is anyone holding a passport will need to do the Visa run as per her entry visa stipulates, if she is on a parent passport then she does not, as the parent visa is valid for both.

I am not even sure if your child needs a visa. It will simply receive a 30-stamp on entry. Children are exempted from overstay fines until they are 12 years old (or so). I went twice with my son to Penang and once to the Philippines via Bangkok Airport. My son always had many month overstay and there was no problem or fine for him.

Somebodey here in forum also mentioned that at the airport immigration (where you pay overstay fees) was a notice attached to the wall, saying "...no fees for kids...".
