Ms Windows Xp Sp3 With Ms Office 2000 Sp3

Featured Replies

We encountered a small problem, running Windows XP Pro SP3 RC1 in combination with MS Office 2000 Professional SP3 Thai/English.

The problem, what in fact is more annoying then a real problem, is that “sometimes” if we open MS Word and start typing directly, we get the message “Not enough memory to load default font”.

After we quite MS Word and start it again, wait a few seconds, before starting typing the problem doesn’t pop-up. Did anybody encountered this problem?

MS Windows XP SP3 rc1 and MS Office 2000 Professional SP3 are both up-to-date loaded with the latest updates.

Hi Malcom,

Of course we did directly CTRL-ALT-Deleted to see the amount of free memory, the computer has 2GB of memory, and during the encounter, only MS Word was the only (regular) application running. Virtual memory is set to automatic so that would probably be something like 4GB.

We can recreate the problem on a total different computer (notebook) running Windows XP Home, with a complete different VGA card, what was our first idea of the the source of the problem...

(It seems that we not have the problem with MS Office 2002 (XP), but as our majority of licenses are still MS Office 2000 we cannot just switch.
