One of my hobbies is visiting second-hand bookstores in Thailand. For example there are six that I know of in Pattaya. Obviously I visit them to borrow books but I keep my eyes peeled for rare or unusual books which I buy for profit.

There are some real bargains to be had. Most books are priced between 100-200 Baht but I have resold many for between 10-50 pounds. Mostly in the 10-15 pound range.

Hard backs and soft backs equally. There are actually many books out of print, much sought after in specialist book stores in London. I could probably make more money if I resold them in the U.K. on Ebay, but so far I have taken them to second-hand booksellers in London who know their true worth.

I've noticed the same thing in Chang Mai, Syd. Picked up some rare first editions up there.

I'm selling my collection soon (about 1000) look out for an add on Thai Visa wanted section.

You'd have to be Irish ..

I collect the women but throw away the bras and panties.

Have I got it the wrong way round?

One woman is enough to handle for me .When she goes off to work ,the sniffing and licking of strange womens used panties begins .Its heaven at eleven and even goes on all day sometimes !

Learning to play the guitar. So far in 2 months I have spent 40,000 on a guitar some lessons and bits. The trouble is I love guitars far beyond my ability to play them so I am now looking at another 70-100K for guitars. Still keeps me out of trouble as I spend 20 hours a week trying (with little success) to master it!!!

I'm with you sgunn65 GUITARS...the one I brought to Thailand is my Martin D41 what a sound. Another love/hobby our bicycles. Have some ok mountain bikes a 23 year old Gary Fisher and a nice mountain bike I bought from REI and a cheapy Giant I bought here 3 months ago, but have 1 nice road bike a Trek Madone 5.5. I'm on my way back to California in 2 weeks to pick them all up and bring them here to Thailand.

Only since this last September have I had all the time I wish to ride bicycles and play the guitar. I'm a happy man!!!

Golf comes in second at 240,000B thats 20,000 a month for sonicdragon post 70

Photography for 150,000B post 108 kmj and for 100,000B post 33 stickman.

Collecting bras and panties could be right up there but no cost given.

Hobbies

'Philatelist' fortunately my father left me with a very large collection dating from 1845-1956

Mostly British Commonwealth. These came mostly from aunt who was a reverend mother in Nigeria for 53 years.

His friend also gave him his collection with main double Irish and English cancelations on single envelopes.

War years 1939-1946 1954-1966. Very rare envelopes with both countries stamps on single envelope with cancelations he worked in Irish customs. I have hundreds of these.

Lots of single sheets of Irish stamps 1954-1980

Large collection Irish stamps with overprints on 1916 -1922. Wish I had more time to play with them.

Some very early USA stamps.

Have always said will do when I retire.

Playing with shares and FX usdeuro with limited success.
