I am not a photographers ahole, no idea how I took this but i want to do it again, better next time as I like the look and have it enlarged.

It appears to me that the flash either did not fire or was not switched on. As such it's an available light shot.

It's just a bit too dark for my taste but I can see why you like it.

Don't despair.

As The Vulcan says the shot was natural light and considering the long exposure 1/8th F3.5 it is very good.

A little tweak of the exposure on the computer produced this.

The grain gives is a special texture, which I like.

With flash you would have lost that. :o

Exactly, I did not want the flash exposure, I wanted the light from a fire reflecting on his face....the thing is he cannot sit still and I do not know how it came out so steady at such a quick shot....I have no real idea what the camera setting was on, but it caught it just right.

I have another similar shot from a fireside on the mountain top near Burma.
