I normally travel on a non-B visa but didn't renew mine this year and have also fallen behind on the latest travel funds regulations.

I suspect a presentable farang with an onward air ticket would not be asked to show evidence of travel funds but what do regular 30-day-pass travellers experience or need to show these days? Thanks.

YOU NEED

PASSPORT

BOARDING PASS FOR ARRIVING FLIGHT

ONWARD FLIGHT BOOKING

ALSO THEY WILL ASK WHERE ARE STAYING

4 years visiting Thailand 3 - 4 times a year.

I have NEVER actually been asked for evidence of onward journey.

Many stays are 2 - 3 months.

Must qualify that by saying I do side trips, KL, Saigon and other places.

I get 30 days more every time. Like a Visa run I s'pose.

Just put in my flite number on immigration form, from onward ticket. Which I often extend.

They MUST have some tabs on my travels in their computer.

I not complaining.

Never ever heard of showing my just-used boarding pass to arrival immigration. The arriving flight number on the form should suffice. In the absence of a Thai visa, at check-in the carrier will demand to see a ticket out of Thailand. If not dated within 30 days it's a grey area (?) ... could claim you are making a side trip from Thailand before using it. Occasionally immigration will ask to see an onward air ticket. But I've never been asked to show money at the airport, or anywhere (except arriving Malaysia overland). If they thoroughly checked all onward connections, and travel funds, the queues would double immediately.

Just to back this up:

After several years here - I've also never heard of anyone being asked for their onward ticket or proof of finances (but who's to say they won't start asking for these, so it's best top be prepared!)
