Yes it is possible if your Non O Visa is not based on retirement. You will need a work permit.

Thankyou Lite Beer, the visa is based on marriage.

Is the application process the same as for non-imm "B" visa?

Sorry, not my subject. As far as I know your employer should sort this out for you.

Stick around for someone to post a proper reply.

Ok, i just spoke with the lawyer again and he is sure that a non imm "O" visa stamped "EMPLOYMENT PROHIBITED" cant be used to apply for a work permit.

He says i should take the company letter of recomendation to the British Embassy where they will issue a new visa, what do you guys think? Going by what i have read on Thaivisa this doesn't sound right.

Paul.

The British Embassy does not issue Visas for Thailand.

Are you sure you want to work for this lawyer. :o

The officer in charge of my annual visa extension has in fact recommended to change from non "B" to non "O" as a wife is on hand already. A non"O" (marriage visa) does not prohibit the issuance of a work permit and the annual extension based on marriage does require less paperwork as per my information gathered.
