Transfering $$ Out Of Thailand

Featured Replies

Greetings,

Has anyone (without a registered Thai company) transfered money into their personal bank account overseas? I have been told by someone that this might raise some questions...any comments?

Can I do it myself without problems?

Should I have my gf do it?

Should I send it to an account overseas that is not mine?

If anyone has done this in the past without problems (or with) I would appreciate hearing about it.

Much thanks,

JL

Just show your bank a copy of your work permit and they will transfer the money no problem.

Or if it has come from the sale of a condo show them the blue paper from the Land Office stating what amount you've paid tax on. Again no problem to transfer.

I was told by a mate / old landlord / estate agent.. That he has clients with lots of money stuck in Thailand..

He said even with a tor tor 3 (if thats the forms name.. proves you brought that amount in) not getting it out.. Also saying that land office is assessing the 'appraised value' as normal but only allowing that much money out the country leaving rest stuck in..

Only heard this yesterday and wanted to ask about it myself.. He even felt that one man with 6m stuck in Thailand would take 5m for it outside.. Seems highly strange as for 1m would be easy to cash move it (despite being illegal).
