Please advise best place to buy a freshwater tank (1 metreX 30cmsX 50 cms)etc,.filter,plants and goldfish,shibunkin,Japanese loach,plec fish etc

Would really like freshwater ,not having to bother with trpoical,temperatures,salinity etc

Can pick up ideally from Mae Chan or Chaing Saen,at worst Chiang Rai

Travelling from Meng Rai Monument heading towards Big C - turn right on See Yaek Srisaimoon and head towards Chiang Rai. As you drive along that road, there is a row of shops where they sell used shoes (to your left). The road curves to the left and there is a row of shops (Moo Khatah). Drive a bit further down approx 50 to 100 meters. On the left hand somewhat diagonally across a shop that has motocross bikes is a place where they sell ornamental fish and aguarium supplies.

You might want to ask them if they can have an aquarium custom made for you.

I have bought 2 custom made aquarium from the shop just opposite Big C. If you come from south just after the walkingbridge.

There is a glass shop (windows, panes, etc) on Jeyod road, halfway to the end, going east from the intersection by Wiang Inn hotel. On the south side of the glass shop, is another similar shop that specializes in sheet rock and ceiling tiles.. You can access it on the zig zag side road that connects to the road by the bus station. That other shop (next to a car radio place and two doors west of a big metal working shop) also does home-made aquariums - usually using salvaged pieces of glass.
