seems that mtu in xp is set a little high for dialup, at 1500. using dr tcp,

you can easily change this down to 576 or whatever you might come up with that is better. seems to work for me, but i haven't extensively tried it yet.

this is working good ....36k connect, am downloading at 3.6 consistent, with a tight 14,15,16,17 network utilization...and this is at 9 at night.

right MTU at 1500 is far too high ... 576 is a lot better for dial-up.

you might set it up to auto-discovery, it works ok too :o
