Have you considered Muay Thai? There are 2 gyms in Rawai / Nai Harn. You can start slowly, it's good for beginners of any age and will for sure make you fit.

There's a new spa/fitness center that recently opened on the road from Cheers Bar to Rawai Beach.

I think it's called Supervarna or something like that. You might want to do a drive by and check it out.

hi Good Girl, I have been interested to take Muay Thai but as a working Farang there are no late classes, like after 5:30. pm. I work 9-530, however I am close the Rawai Gym. I looked on their website. Is it possible to just work out that late like from 6-7? I wont be entering any competitions. Just want some excercise besides the boring treadmill. I like biking too.. but not risking my life doing it.

Yes, both Rawai Muay Thai and Sinbi Muay Thai Gym offer personal training outside of the regular training times.

But even for regular training, if you manage to come in at 5.30 pm, you will still be able to train like everyone else, it is very flexible. Some other students only return for their afternoon run around that time and start training in the gym with the trainers. You can tell the trainers that you can only come in a bit later and they will adjust to it.

It's fun because you can learn a lot, have fun at the same time as getting fit and you can be around many other Thai and foreign people.

I would be interested to try the hot yoga but not at the life risking drive to central at 5:30. Think I will look into the muay Thai just minutes away.

Hey there...

Your post grabbed my interest! Happen to know if there are any Muay Thai Gyms around the Cherngtalay/Surin area?

Cheers,
