In Phuket, here is what I understand from the forums is THE place for ribs, steaks, BBQ and other stuff:

DON’s CAFÉ, ETC 48/5 Sai Yuan road Moo 7, Rawai, Phuket, Thailand 83130 -

Don Battles - (Nai Harn) PHONE: 0-7628-9314 FAX: 0-7628-9319

CELL: 01-894-6401 Website: http://www.Phuket-dons.com/

Don is an American "friend of a friend" who I have been emailing with. Though I have never met him personally, he seems to be a great guy. The Phuket.com website under "restaurants" say that his place is a local hangout for both locals and farangs. He also has a meat processessing business, a wine distributorship, a food wholesale business and a bakery - all selling to other restaurants.

I have never been to Thailand but was coming to Phuket to check into it as a place to retire until the tsunami when I got to checking out Chaing Mai. It seems to be more my style and now I am planning to check it out in 2-3 months.

Any reply and comments would be appreciated.
