peter991
I don't know if anyone under 50 who was not born in Australia would remember Norman Gunston? How about his salute to Abba in 1976? Here's my choice: The Numa Numa song ... Peter

I'll go first; Billy Ray Cyrus 'Achy breaky heart'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EebObs-vC0 Foe me its "I lost my Heart to a Starship Trooper"...Sarah Brightman...before she came under the influence of Lloyd Webber Speaking of Starship. .....We Built This City.. ...No punishment is harsh enough for this flagrant infraction of audial laws. peter991
Do the words 'My Heart Will Go On' send you running out the room? Or maybe 'Mmm Bop' or 'Las Macarena'? Well, you're not alone. Over 5000 people recently took part in a onepoll survey and nominated these as some of the most irritating songs of all time. Take a guess at who took out first place … Poor James Blunt, with his over-earnest, syrupy tune 'You're Beautiful' — a song that was seriously overplayed in 2005. Check out the full list below and click on the title to listen to 30-second samples of the song (surely you didn't want to hear more than 30 seconds of it!) 1. 'You're Beautiful', James Blunt (2005) 2. 'Axel F', Crazy Frog (2005) 3. 'Mmm Bop', Hanson (1997) 4. 'Mr Blobby', Mr Blobby (1993) 5. 'Birdie Song', The Tweets (1981) 6. 'Shout', Lulu (1964) 7. 'Agadoo', Black Lace (1984) 8. 'Grace Kelly', Mika (2007) 9. 'My Heart Will Go On', Celine Dion (1998) 10. 'Las Macarena', Los Del Rio (1997) We're in agreement that for most of these songs, all copies should be burned so as to never taint our ears again, not to mention banned from every karaoke station across the globe. But we can't help but think there were more than a few worthier tracks which should have scored a spot on the list. What about ... 'Barbie Girl', Aqua 'Tubthumping', Chumbawamba 'Wannabe', Spice Girls 'Ride On Time', Black Box 'Achey Breaky Heart', Billy Ray Cyrus 'Doop', Doop 'Blue (Da Ba Dee)', Eiffel 65 'The Hampster Dance Song', Hampton the Hamster 'The Ketchup Song', Las Ketchup 'Who Let the Dogs Out', Baha Men 'Mambo No. 5', Lou Bega 'Shaddap You Face', Joe Dolce Not to mention the incredibly annoying David Guetta track 'Mix Messenger', which samples the sounds of Messenger! Now c'mon, they've got to be worse than Mika's 'Grace Kelly'!
