Hi guys,

i need to get a kitchen designed and built - good quality, european style. had a quote from Homepro the other week and although its a lovely kitchen, the price seems sky high (200 k)

Anyone got any recommendations around Phuket where they have showrooms (done SB, Index etc already)

I used to design and install kitchens in the states and also went to Homepro and thought the prices there were high and most of the cabinets seemed to be made out of plastic.

So, i just ended up building my own bottom structure, with plans to tile the countertop someday (easy to find tile setters here)

And a shelf or two up on top with some hanging racks and it's ok and cost me a few thousand baht total.

I would not want to build one out of those plastic cabinets that are ALWAYS going to look plastic.

Use your imagination, draw some pictures, talk to a carpenter or cabinet shop (we have a good one in Nai Harn, but i get them to cut the plywood and then do the rest myself)

Marble is fairly cheap here also and can really help to dress up a kitchen. good luck.

Try Kitchen Studio on Chaofa West Rd. The showroom is next to Island Furniture - a couple of km south of Central.

Excellent design services, cabinet quality and installers, but possibly more expensive than HomePro / Index / SB / StarMark. They should be able to work up a rough design and quote for you in about 30-60 minutes time. We're very happy with the kitchen they designed and installed for us.
