Italian Man killed by Barbecue Tongs following minor road accident.

A tragic accident now which claimed the life of an Italian resident of Pattaya. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday Morning and was investigated by Police Lieutenant Colonel Pongrit from Pattaya Police Station who made his way to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital following a road accident which occurred on the Thappraya Road in Jomtien. The victim of the crash, Mr. Yamato Camello aged 55 from Italy was rushed to Hospital but was pronounced dead minutes later. He had sustained a puncture wound to his lung during the crash. A barbecue tong which the victim had brought minutes earlier from a local convenience store had penetrated his body during the crash. As Mr. Camello lay on the road he removed the Tong from his body which caused severe bleeding and led to his eventual death. His devastated Wife, Khun Kumheng aged 55 explained that the accident occurred after her Husband lost control of the bike. She was uninjured and the only injury sustained by Mr. Camello was caused by the Barbecue Tong. The Italian Embassy in Bangkok have been made aware of the case.

Nasty one that. Freak accident. I saw it on the news channel, they tried CPR but he was gone. I suspect it (the skewer) penetrated his heart. (Heart & Lungs are contiguous organs).

RIP Italian man.

If he'd left the tongs in his chest he may have had a chance.
