Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya 2am options

What are my options at 2am for getting to Pattaya? Can I haggle with different taxi drivers for the best rate? Or am I stuck with the Taxi guy they assign to me and whatever he wants to charge? Or is the meter rate a better option? Are there any other transportation options at 2am? --Thx

I always get quoted a flat rate fee at the public taxi queue at curbside on the arrivals level. I think the last time (February) was B1500 "including highway tolls" (which the driver still tries to extort). Even paying the tolls ( <B100), it's a reasonable deal and stress-free.

Taxi meters only apply within Bangok, not up-country.

Another option, probably more appealing if you are arriving after a long day of travel, would be to spend a few hours at a budget airport-area hotel ( http://www.bangkok-hotel.net/suvarnabhumi-...ngkok-thailand/ ) and take the Bell Travel bus to Pattaya for B250 after a nice, refreshing shower and nap.

The fare should be around 1300 baht exluding tolls. Not that you would need those at that hour anyway.

I believe there are direct busses to Pattaya, but I doubt they run at that hour.

yes, last bus around 21.30, first around 6.00/6.30: those are the normal upcountry 1st cl blue buses with Ac from the bus terminal at Swampy

Better choice is the reserved BELL minibus, as it sets you down at any point you want in PTY/Jowmtien: directions for that in many previous posts, and I recall last time even having seen a special dedicated fone for them just after customs in the public arrivals area, but 1st bus also likely at 6.00/or maybe 7.00

I would suggest O.N. Taxi. I have used them many times from Bangkok to Pattaya and back and found them very reliable. E-Mail address; [email protected] 24 hour service and charge about 1200 baht including tolls.

Seconded.

I always used to email O.N. when I worked overseas and was coming home for holidays.

Just send him your flight details and someone will be there to meet you.

We all get a bit 'cheap charlie' after living here for too long.

Just jump in the first cab you are offered and pay the fee (about 1,300 I belive). Put it in perspective, where in your home country could you get a taxi to drive you 130kms (about 80 miles), for £20 ($40)?

Rubbish....have took a metered taxi from the airport on a meter many times.....

THB 1200-THB 1300 incl tolls is a fair price...dont jump in the touts limo services because the sods will try and charge THB 3000+ for the same journey....but at least they are insured...

Mighty Mouse posted this in reply to a similar request that I had:-

" Mr T Taxi Service can meet him at the airport and transport him to his Pattaya hotel in a late model, air-con sedan for 1,000 baht. Price is inclusive of motor way and airport parking.

Their phone number: 66-38-720-318"

Last night they picked my friend up on time and took him to Pattaya. The fare was 1000 baht including tolls. I assume they would work around the clock.
