I saw a combined gas burner, BBQ grill and griddle at Rim Ping today. Not too shabby but just a little too shabby. (That description makes perfect sense to me :D )

I really like the idea of a multi-function unit. Any place in town have a good selection of quality units and fair prices?

I opted for a chemical / oil drum cut in half, legs welded on with a grill on top. Once you have burned the hazardous chemical sign off, works just fine. Only 500 Baht.

Good charcoal available from all markets.

I bought a gas BBQ from Rimping and it melted making the 'proudly Australian made' boast stamped across it rather an embarrassment for our Antipodian friends. BBQ parts should never be made of plastic surely?

I am still negotiating with Rimping for compensation but they don't seem to want to pay, replace it or offer a credit note. One day I'll get round to dumping it in the lobby and having an angry Farang moment which will be fun.

I've never heard of Bbq melting, try taking the cover off first next time.

bbqthai.com have great quality products and have a next day delivery service anywhere in Thailand.
