Power Outage In Ratchada

Featured Replies

Today we had the second power outage within the last two weeks.

Both times it happened during heavy rain and lasted to 1 - 2 hours.

Is that only happening here on Ratchada (near the new Cyber Towers) or did you guys experience the same?

Since this is Thailand it does not bother me too much.

I am just suprised since I cannot remember that this happened that frequently last year.

Not far from you (Ladprao area), power outages are really part of our every day's life :o

I just hope one day they will be able to fix that.

Wow. Ok that is even worse.

At least I am not alone.

So maybe this is a good reason for buying an Universal Power Supply.

The only problem is that the ones you can buy at BigIT only provide backup power for up to 30 minutes.

That is definitely not enough in Thailand.

I am going to check that out.

The first rains of the season normally result in that and take an electric crew an hour or two to restore. All the easily blown down tree limbs and such.

Home UPS for 2-3,000 baht are only designed to keep power long enough for you to close down a computer system. Well worth the price for the purpose.

in Rama 9 we had the blackout at the same time as sukhumvit but our power was backup within 5 mins. I wonder if its the fault of your building in some way? Or just lucky to be on Rama 9 because it gets power back quicker due to setup of the grid.. no idea.
