Gprs On Samui

Featured Replies

Is anyone using GPRS on Samui? if so, would love to hear more details. Speed, provider, reliability etc.

I was roaming on AIS network via my Telstra Blackberry.

Stayed at the Nora beach and it was working fine.

Chaweng and Bophut also good reception.

Only real dropouts I had were parts of the drive BKK to Pattaya but only for short distances.

Cldnt tell you speed but was getting my email fine.

i don't know now but i'm planning on buying a GPRS phone when i'm in BKK next week and will set it up in Ko Phagnan so i'll post the results.

According to the GPRS thread in the internet/technology group on this forum, most people prefer DTAC to AIS but DTAC reception is crap in KPN so i'm going to have to go with AIS.

If Orange is available there have a look at this also, I use it on Koh Samet and it is very reliable.
