Two People Arrested for Attempted Bag Snatch

On Friday morning police were quickly on the scene and arrested two Thai people, one male and female, both aged 25, near the new road construction taking place in the East of Pattaya after they had stolen a handbag from a Thai lady riding her motorbike in the area.

Initially there were three thieves riding on the one motorbike, but the bag snatch was witnessed by police driving a pickup and the officers gave chase. Two of the three people on the motorbike decided to jump off and make a run for it but they were quickly cornered by police and surrendered.

The motorbike rider was able to give police the slip after being chased from Soi Siam Country Club to the area around Soi Wat Tham Samakee. Back at the stationhouse the arrested pair readily gave up the name of their accomplice and police are now searching for him. The victim was able to recover her belongings while the two thieves will probably face time in jail.
