cowbs Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 There are quite a few good web sites with photos, but not sure if I can list the url's? One is run by Ian on Koh Chang who has a huge site with incredible detailed information on the island, and loads of quick loading photos. Try a google.

cowbs Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 OK, seems like one can quote the links, so here goes: This is Ian's site with masses of good photos that are down to earth and show life as it really is: http://www.iamkohchang.com/New_Photos/index.htm And another good site for photos is this one that also has 360 degree shots: http://www.kochangvr.com/index.htm Both sites also show the surrounding islands, which are worth a look.

racefan Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Be prepared for a proper wet season. Cannot possibly be worse than Samui!!
wilko Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 mmmmm - I think you'd better look at the rainfall figures and wind speeds for KC ..... doesn't sound as if you're prepared
KohKarrang Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 A pretty mserable place during the wet season I must say, I've spent the last 7 seasons on Koh Chang and when it's wet is boring, the sea is choppy, the roads are dangerous and flooded, the only real thing to do is get yourself to a bar full of booze and nice 'company' and dig in for the evening, sayng that, during the high season it's a fine place to stay, lots of activities now and lots of friendly ladies Beware of White Sands during the rainy season, roads are rivers...
ZZZ Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Koh Chang June, July Aug: average rain fall 1000mm/month 27 rainy days per month Koh Samui June, July Aug: average rain fall 120mm/month 14 rainy days per month Worst month in Koh Samui is November with 490mm/month and 14 rainy days.

Serious stats ZZZ, I've only spent a little bit of time down in the south during the wet season and it was very wet but now I see the comparisons!
wilko Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Here's a good weather map..... http://www.travelfish.org/weather_fish.php KC - max 1071 mm in August Samui - 490 in November...... if you move aboiut enough you could be sodden for most of the year!
