Just had a flyer in the letterbox (well, it's nice to get anything in the letterbox these days) - Special Valentine's Day set menu dinner at their rooftop restaurant.

Several courses, not including booze except for "Sparkling Wine". I guess a commanding view of the Banchang Hospital, and romantic background noise from the traffic on Sukhumvit.

At 1200Baht per head plus (in the small print) 10% service charge plus VAT I'm not especially tempted.

 

Been there once. It had only recently opened, and they did do us a favour with the "quarantine" thing that only got rescinded here last year. (Last May. -They were an approved 'quarantine' hotel).

Food was okay, but the service was poor, tbh. Hopefully, they may have sorted that out by now.

 

If it's a "rooftop" setting, I'd rather to to the "Kameo" hotel in Rayong. The "California Steak" restaurant there is pretty good. Food, service, and price-wise.

Bua is an excellent restaurant. Phala Rib House has new ownership that doesn't hold a candle to the old place.

Serene Phala beach restaurant, live music in the evenings too, good food and not too expensive.

Also the relatively new Ban Chang Riverside, great food and quick service and definitely one of the best right now, but it does get extremely busy at holidays and weekends, their 1000 Baht sets are huge!, out the back of Ban Chang but only 5 to 10 minutes.

The "new" owners are actually the original property owners and they are back in business says my wife

Wow, everybody be thinking ban Chang is closed, long time since this topic was updated!!

 

Some new additions and updates;

 

Finnegans - Very good under the new owners Mickey and Rat, awesome Sunday carvery, Indian night, Steak night, great prices on draught beers.

 

LA 500 - Next door to Finnegans in Sinthavee Park, authentic Italian Pizzas from a wood fired oven, Pasta dishes, Thai foods, a relaxed Outdoor atmosphere, good wines and cold beers.

 

Seeadler - Down the long Phala road, former owners of Zum Adler (Hence the name) Indoor and outdoor seating, nice bar, pool table, the Tuesday Tacos special is great, good burgers, draught and bottled beers, good service.

 

Agosto Wine & Dine - on Sukhumvit opposite entrance to Ban Chang Hospital, very nice place, great service, massive wine selection, huge menu of Italian foods and also great choice of steaks, they will be doing pizza in a couple of weeks time, they are just opened. They also have an Agosto in Pattaya, this is an additional restaurant in Ban Chang from same people.

 

Hungry Eyes Indian - on the road from Buraphapat road up towards Tesco just after where the One Supercenter is currently under construction. Very authentic Indian foods, great menu, be aware the portions are huge. This is also an additional restaurant to the one they have in Pattaya.

 

Come on Ban Changers, i am sure there is lots more to add, let people know Ban Chang is open!!!

River Chill next to dragon bridge at Phayuun beach is an outstanding dining experience. Food was good and served in a timely manner. Nice scenery. 

 

Will definitely be our local go to place.
