For some years now we, that is my wife and me, are supporting a girl and her child in the Phillipines.

Up till now she could cope with all the problems an unmarried mother in Phil can get, but lately her stamina is running out.

Living with friends and family, then a week here, then a few days there, you might say she is living "wildish".

We are looking into the possibilities to let her come to Khon Kaen for as long as possible, to spruce her up, which is very much needed, because her weight dropped down below the 40 kilo, while she is 160 cm tall.

So things are getting urgent.

Making runs across the border for whatever reason is not a problem, Nong Khai is near and easy to do.

Could anybody tell me about the possibilities?

She can only stay 90 days in a six month period using visa exempt entry but there has been some recent talk of this not being strictly enforced. If it is she would have to obtain tourist visa entry during the time that visa exempt was not available. Vientiane could probably be used for that.
