Hi :o

This is something i am interested in as well! I ride a Yamaha RXZ, where the light is powered by AC. A shop near my place sells the HID set with fitting "bulb" and they say it'll work, but i have seen these installed (mainly in Finos) and it looks like the headlight shuts off when the engine is in idle (such as at traffic lights) due to a lack of voltage. That is NOT what i want.

Anyone done it on their small bike with AC headlight??

Best regards......

I suspect on a small bike, like the fino, there will not be enough power to start the engine when the lights are also drawing current. Emphasis on the word 'suspect' here

Hi :o

I think it must be the voltage - as the HID draws only 35 watts, which is equal to the "regular" headlight bulbs, as in my RXZ (same as Fino) are 35 watts as well.

However when the engine is idle, the alternator gives only 7-8 Volts - probably too little to feed the HID which depends much on input voltage.

And e-start is for children anyway :D

Best regards.....
