Just wanted to put in a very good word for the fusion/healthy eating experience inside the Verasu stores on Wireless Road and in Ladprao.... Check out the web site listed above for some photos of what's on offer.

For those who might not know, Verasu stores specialize in home and kitchen appliances, generally higher end models and brands not otherwise available in Thailand. They have various stores and shoplets around Thailand...

You'd never really know from the outside, but inside, their Wireless Road and Ladprao locations have cafes/bakeries that serve some very tasty and healthy meals at very reasonable prices in a comfortable, simple setting.

The TGF and I went to the Wireless Road location just the other day for a late weekend lunch, and thought it was GREAT.... Very broad menu... lots of Thai food and western food choices, often prepared in modern, non-traditional styles... Very good coffees and blended fruit drinks. And lots of choices for cakes and cookies and baked goods...

The Wireless Road location, located at Soi 1 just opposite the Plaza Athanee Hotel, has their Vista Cafe, which they call Thailand's "first spelt flour bakery" on the second floor, where coffees, drinks, baked goods and some simple meal choices like lasagna are available.

Then one level up on the third floor, they have their Third Floor Blood Type Cuisine, which sounds terrible, but just don't pay any attention to the name. It's simply their full-blown restaurant, with waitresses, menus, service and a great view out a big wall window onto Wireless Road below.

The restaurant name and menu is laid out based on different eating choices supposedly geared to the different blood types that people have. I don't know anything about the truth or accuracy of that. But I'd suggest just ignore it and look thru all the great choices on their menu and pick what you like. They have a standard menu that's available every day, along with permanent specials listed in the menu with a different page for each day of the week.

We ate about 4 dishes upstairs plus a couple fruit drinks and still water, all for less than 800 baht. We then went back down to the second floor and had a couple pieces of cakes and coffees for desert. Everything was well prepared, good ingredients and tasty to the max...

The only negative I can say about this place is that their eateries keep to the regular store hours. So what would also be a great dinner choice closes for new orders at 6 pm, I believe, and then actually closes at 7 pm... So it really becomes more of a lunch or early dinner choice. Wish they'd stay open in the evenings...

Regardless of whether you prefer Thai food or western choices, this is a very good place to try....
