erg Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Hi you guys, I come back from a long working trip in Holland, and after a long period of working, my Thai misses and my daughter (allmost 2 years) meet arond 15,00 oclock at the airport, now i saw there are busses to koh Chang untill 18.00. The alternative is to go into bangkok for a night, Or if i take the late bus to koh chang, is it possible to find a place to stay, to wait for the ferry to Koh Chang, or should i travel from Ekamai, or even Kao san Road the next morning. Tips or sugestions are welcome. Thanks erwin

The strange thing is they say the last bus to Koh Chang is at 18:00..???, always thought the last ferry from Trat to Koh Chang was at 18:00. If you leave BKK 18:00, the earliest you will get to Trat ferry terminal will be around 20:30 pretty sure even if I am wrong about the 18:00 ferry, dont think there will be one that time at night and you will be stuck in Trat
singa-traz Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 After a 12 hours flight, I would not want to sit another 5-6 hours in a bus.

In a car you can hit Trat in about 2.5 -3 hours on the motorway.. Agree with you if the bus is stopping all the time to pick people up... but direct...airport - Trat, should be able to do it in the same time as a car..
thaihome Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I would take a taxi direct from the airport to Jomtien, stay the night there and arrange for transport to Koh Chang next day. It is really too far to make it the same day at a decent time and if you go into Bangkok, you are traveling in the opposite direction you need to go. TH
erg Posted August 25, 2008 Author Posted August 25, 2008 Thanks Thaihome thats what i am gonna do, Jomtien or even Ban Sean, and make it a nice trip the next day or even two days later. Thanks.
jumbo Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I wouldn't bother going to Bang Saen as it is polluted very much, same more or less for Jomtien unless you go further down Jomtien to Bang Saray Bangkok is not too bad as well and you could visit Siam Park..... but after that flight I would like a rest in a nice place 2.5-3.00 hours to Trat feom Bangkok, by rocket...
