PAD are corrupt and trying to stop the will of the people. Time to remove the PAD. :o

Now the appeal court have accepted the PAD appeal against being moved from governmnet house the PAD have at least 15 more days to demonstrate there if the report is correct.

Does this mean the Police are now unlawfully removing them?

Sure looks like they are trying to, but what do you expect from a totally corrupt government?!

You know why TRT and PPP are so popular with rural people? Because the kamnan and the monk in the village temple say so. Have you seen this speakers in the villages? Or did you hear them early in the morning with there propaganda?

Okay....

So should Thailand follow the villagers, their leaders and their monks (who are representative of the majority of the nation)?

Or should Thailand follow some fat Chinese dudes in Bangkok?

Police seize area up to Cabinet Secretariat Building

At 10:38 am, Thai PBS reported that police had managed to seize control of areas from Red Building at Gate 5 to the office building of the Cabinet Secretariat.

Scenes on Thai PBS show some protesters being forcefully whisked away by police.

Some were hit by batons and some were kicked as they refused to move.

Several of them were seen being forced to lie face down.

Civil Court denies leniency for PAD injunction

The Civil Court has upheld its temporary injunction against the People's Alliance for Democracy, calling for the group's leader's to move the rally away from the Government House. The court has however accepted the appeal and has scheduled a hearing on the matter 2 weeks from now.

Attorney for the PAD Suwat Apaipak (สุวัตร อภัยภักด) traveled to ask for leniency on the injunction as well as submit an appeal towards the matter. The Civil Court stated that there was insufficient reasoning to allow for leniency and thus upheld the injunction.

PAD ordered to unblock traffic on Phitsanulok, Ratchadanoen roads

Deputy Spokesman for the National Police Pol. Maj. Gen. Surapol Tuanthong (สุรพล ทวนทอง) demands the removal of People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD)’s demonstrations on Phitsanulok and Ratchadamnoen roads in order to allow cabinet members, civil servants, and public motorists to be able to use the routes.

Following the PAD’s recent intrusion into the National Broadcasting of Thailand (NBT) compound and the Government House on August 26th, Gen. Surapol says the court has issued a temporary protection for state buildings and is enforcing arrest warrants against the PAD’s core leaders.

Gen. Surapol says the PAD protestors have been ordered to move out of the Government House area and relocate their rally stage from their current site. He says police officers’ will operate in compliance with the court’s recent injunctions, adding that the arrest of the PAD’s core leaders will be conducted openly.

PM assures government has measures to remove PAD from government house

Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej stated that the government is working to remedy the ongoing situation of the People's Alliance for Democracy rallying within the Government House compound as the protest continues into it's third day.

The PM responded to accusations that the government has remained idle to the situation, saying that the administration is working from the outside in and is seeking solutions that do not require force.

The premier assured that measures have been set to move the rally out of the government house but revealed only that he has not given up on the matter. As for the railway stoppage resulting from mass absences of employees, the PM stated that he has let relevant agencies deal with the matter.

This from the nation:

Protesters can continue protest at Government House

Demonstrators against Samak Government can continue their protest in the Government House compound now that the Appeal Court accepted on Friday to consider their appeal of the civil court's order for them to get out.

Representing the protesters, Nititorn Ngamluea, said that the plantiff; PM's Secretary General Office, has to submit documents to counter the appeal of the protesters within 15 days.

"Therefore, during the period or before the Appeal Court rules on the appeal, the protesters can protest in the Government House's compound," Nititorn said.

Moreover, police has no authority to disperse the protest there, the lawyer said.

On Wednesday night, the civil court ordered for all street protesters to get out of Government House.

Loiluan Boonnag, deputy secretary to Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej, sent a legal representative to petition the court on Wednesday afternoon to order protesters out of Government House.

He said PAD leaders were obstructing government work, including the weekly Cabinet meeting.

The six leaders named in the lawsuit included Suriyasai Katasila, coordinator of the group, and media mogul Sondhi Limthongkul.

The government also asked the court to issue temporary protection to civil servants at Government House so they can resume their work and the Cabinet can meet and hold a function to honour the King and Queen on August 30.

The plaintiff cited numerous acts committed by PAD protesters - trespassing and occupying government House, trespassing at staterun NBT TV station, vandalising the channel, while some protesters carried weapons.

Intrusions into the Finance Ministry, Transport Ministry and Agricultural Ministry were also cited.

what are the facts now???

Senate Speaker admits concern over image of senate as members show support for PAD

Senate Speaker Prasopsuk Boondet (ประสพสุข บุญเดช) stated that although it is the right of Senators to show support and join in the People's Alliance for Democracy rally he must admit that such activity is a cause for concern towards the image of the Upper House. He said that such actions may affect the image of neutrality of the senate and stated that during today's meeting the matter will be discussed.

Mr. Prasopsuk expressed his personal opinion that during this time all sides should compromise and work together as the current events are affecting the nation's peacefulness and image. He commended the government on illustrating restraint and patience.

The speaker stated that the charging of treason towards the protesters was not excessive as it was within regulations to state such a charge. He expressed his belief that when the matter is actually entered into the legal system, the charge will be reduced.

Police demolish stage, tents of PAD

Police demolished the main stage of People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) at Makkhawan Rangsan bridge and removed tents around the site Friday, as hundreds others forced their way back into the Government House to deliver a court order for the eviction of protesters trying to overthrow the government.

The protesters were outnumbered, and could not obstruct the police's action.

We have seen a peaceful civil disobedience by the people of Thailand. The police responded with violence (teargas, cops with guns in their hands, old ladies and women getting beat up, first aid workers getting beat up by the police and TV footage of everything. This government is toast, no matter if you right wing captitalists like it or not LOL

I don't think any of us has a crystal ball to predict how this will turn out. This will run and run until those involved decide it is over.

No matter who eventually wins, the people of Thailand will lose.

Sadly, this is usually the way of things in Thailand. If the eyes of the world were not watching events its unlikely that things would have dragged on this far. If the military have been sitting on their hands its only because they are weary of attracting international critisism. However....may still turn out to be early days yet.
