Dog Not Eating, A Little Lethargic, But Otherwise Ok

Featured Replies

My dog didn't eat her meal yesterday morning. She had a little in the evening, but wasn't very enthusiastic about it.

Then this morning she wouldn't eat and still isn't eating.

She also vomited slightly this morning. So she may have a bad stomach, however her diet is the same as our other two dogs who are fine.

She doesn't have a fever and is a bit lethargic, but isn't obviously ill and will still chase a ball etc.

Should I take her to the vet now? Or is it OK to wait another day to see if things improve? If we hand feed her she will eat, is this a good idea?

watch her closely, temperature, vomit, also check poopoo. if anything gets worse go to vet immediately. keep her indoors with you tonight so you can watch her better.

if she eats when fed by hand is a good sign. how is the vomit, is it bile or food?

Thanks for your help, we returned home last night and she was as happy as ever, taking her usual position near the kitchen door to waiting for food.

that's good news!! :o
