There are local municipal elections this Sunday, does anyone know the situation regarding bars closing? I have heard that there is no closure required as only about 35,000 are registered to vote.

Lets wait and see then.... normally the police will send out there letters tomorrow

Hope they dont, as tourism could not get any worst at the moment

Letters arrived tonight in bars around the Green Mango area , no alcohol sales between 6pm Saturday & midnight Sunday. I guess the influential people paying 2,000 baht per head to rig the vote dont want to chance their supporters being too p#ssed to remember who bought their vote , absolute farce ! OK to rig an election but wrong to serve beer to a foreign tourist on holiday.

Rub the belly of a toad with baby powder and you'll know if you must close or not :o

Oh dear, be careful on the roads this weekend. The sales of sangsom will double and every thai who would normally be working will be paralytic. What was the reason for closing the bars again?
