DP25... i like Rachada soi 4 too. but nana? commmmmmmmmmmmm on :o

I'm not a nana fan either, but Bully is a nice pub. I like it for a meal and a few beers before heading off for Ratchada, Thonglor, etc, I'm not using it for a warmup before heading to gogo bars. :D

Best night out. Park2 club on Sukhumvit 66. Live ska/punky/funky bands with an excellent party atmosphere. Definately the coolest club in Bangkok (I don't mean poncy cool. If thats your bag go to Koi on 22 :o )

Best pass-time. Wakeboarding at lake Taco.

Best food. Hmmm this ones tricky. Bella Napoli and Tapas (soi 11)

Best place for 'one more drink'. Gazebo Soi 1.

ooh that sounds good!

It is! A friend took me there, otherwise I would never have heard about it. It is actually a converted Thai style house tucked away down a little soi. The place rocks!!

PS. Good idea for a thread by the way Girlx

This could take a while.....

ok try this:

(exclude sex-related nightlife, plenty of lists around for that)

best bar? why?- Wine Bar @ Pullman. Perfect for a few drinks, decent music but it's still possible to chat, tasty food, regular special events.

best club? what kind of music and scene?- Club Culture. Music is always different depending on what night/event is going on there. It's usually good though. Not too big so it always seems like there's a bit of a crowd there whatever night you go. Handy bar outside if you want to relax.

best DJ nights- Any Club Soma night. <3 their DJs.

best pub- Meh, They're all the same really.

best ladies' night- ????????????????

best independent lounge- No idea what that even is! :o

best wine bar- See my first answer I guess.

best thai restaurant- Some old petrol station at the Petchaburi end of Ekamai. Yummy!

best foreign food restaurant- Food Loft at Central World probably.

best street stall food- See favourite thai restaurant

best coffeeshop- Riches Coffee Shop - Fortune Tower. Lovely staff, cheap, free wi-fi!

best people watching- Huh?

best art gallery- Ashamed I never made it to any.

best theater- IMAX

best vintage clothes shopping- Anywhere I can find decent clothes.

best special event- Loy Krathong (but In Chiang Mai)

best day trip from BKK- Pattaya, ah no, Kanchanaburi maybe. I've gone on far too few day trips.

best hospital- The nearest one to where I'd live.

best park- Lumpini probably. Just for running.

best market- They all seem far too similar to me.

best gym- Running in Lumpini

etc.

I can't believe you tricked me into doing this....

well this thread seems to be mostly about where the younger set want to go to listen to music & get pi**ed.

Here's my 4 that i always try to show visitors to BKK:

1. Up Bayoke tower.

2. Erawan Elephant Museum, Samut Prakan. (many Bangkokians have never seen this)

changerawan_01.jpg

3. chao phraya passenger ferry boat from Sathorn to Nonthaburi.......and get the LAST boat back about 6.15pm so returns to the city in the dark... quite a sight.

4. Depending on who the visitor is, take them to Soi Cowboy at night to see how the other half live.
