My girlfriend is applying for a student visa to Australia, where I live. If anyone can offer advice on a couple of topics, we'd both appreciate it.

Firstly, I note that the Australian Immigration website suggests that proof of available funds must be provided. They state that funds can come from any source, but then go on to say you must show proof of how they were obtained. Is it acceptable if I transfer money to my girlfriend's account for her to show a statement?

Secondly, I see some discussions regarding "reason to return". I see no section on the application form that offers a place to state such a reason. My girlfriend owns property in Thailand, has a son, has other family, loves Thailand (just as many of us do), and wants to further her opportunities in Thailand through study in Australia. Is this the sort of thing that we normally put in the "additional information"?

Source of funds need to be shown...even if it comes from you....as you said it doesnt matter where the funds come from.

She wont need to show a reason to return.....she is required to leave on completion of her studies.
