September 29, 200817 yr Ronnie Wood faces £50million divorce pay-out after he is pictured on intimate date with Russian lover, 20 Ronnie Wood faces a £50million divorce pay-out after his wife Jo called in lawyers in exasperation at his continuing relationship with a Russian 20-year-old. Friends have revealed how humiliated Jo has taken legal advice about the break-down of her 23-year marriage and is understood to have been told she is in a 'terrifically strong position'. Apart from taking half of Wood's £75 million fortune in the split, Jo, 53, is also believed to be angling for a portion of the Rolling Stones guitarist's future earnings since she has consistently saved his career from disappearing into a haze of drink and drugs. September 29, 200817 yr Why do ageing rock stars so often do this sort of thing? Probably cos they can!

September 30, 200817 yr She wants a portion of his projected future earnings as well? Talk about putting one's snout in the trough... This is quite common in countries such as Australia, my ex wfe demanded a share of my future earning as well as taking the house, cars, boat and clearing out the bank accounts. CB
September 30, 200817 yr Author We're not talking Heather McCartney here, this woman's got 23 years on the clock.
September 30, 200817 yr Exactly, she has ket him on the relative straight & narrow & probably prevented him from oding or dying of liver damage too for the past 23 years for him to then humiliate & shit on her with some silly strumpet who ran to the press first chance she had. Reports here from a couple of months ago even suggested she (Jo) was ok for him to have his little fling, to get it out of his system & he eventually went running back to her after embarrasing himself the first time round with this girl. To then be seen out & about with her again is too much. If he has no respect for his wife of 23 years then why should she go easy on him? If you want to have another women then finish with the current one with decency & dignity first. Don't act like a prick.
September 30, 200817 yr Strong words boo. I feel that most of us would agree with your sentiment. I think it's the share of future earnings that's going a bit too far - but yeah, she should get up to half of his worth.

Don't act like a prick. Ronnie Wood has been doing this for most of his life including when he was married. His lifestyle as a member of the Small Faces, various other bands and then the Rolling Stones is near legend. To say that he had a little fling to get it out of his system is at best naive. Jo is also not an innocent party, she had a notorious affair with Eric Clapton during the time he was banging just about every wife/partner/girlfriend of all his contempories. Jo has publicaly stated she was disapointed he (Clapton) did not write a song about her like he did so many of his other friends' partners. To claim that she deserves half of the money Ron earned is unfair but a typical claim. Anyone want to show me a song that she contributed any part? A word, a riff line, a solo, a single note? Anyone want to show me how many paintings of Ron's she helped - mix his paint, apply a single brush stroke? Ron Wood is a talented man in many areas and has been true to form. He is a victim of a simple truth: "Men marry women and don't expect them to change, but they do" "Women marry men and expect them to change, but they don't" She knew what Ron was like long before they got together and took him on, baggage include, to then claim his phillandering ways are a reason to leave him is absurd. Perhaps she should remember when she took him from his previous partner and take a look in the mirror before she starts claiming "strumpet stole my man and that is too much" CB
October 1, 200817 yr It's all a matter of perspective isn't it. That he or she has had flings in the past is clearly not the issue, Jo is pissed off at him for running off with this young girl & parading her around in public. A fling she can deal with but clearly this is taking it too far so she has had enough. And why shouldn't she have half? She raised his kids, kept his house, dealt with his drinking, drugs & other women & shared his life, so what if she didn't write a song or paint a picture, she was in the background dealing with his offspring & running his life when not on the road, same as thousands of other housewives do & it is as valid a contribution to their life as writing a song or the equivilant of a husband going off to the office every day, that he made the money doesn't mean she didnt earn at least half herself. ***Added*** And it seems that she was at least instrumental in his continued sucess if this article from The Herald Sun AUis right, if she had such large stakes in his businesses then she was clearly not just sitting around doing nought. Jo, 53, could be entitled to half of Wood's estimated £70 million fortune, but as his executive assistant, his personal management assistant, joint director of his music company Rockyarch and company secretary for his painting business Scream Art, Jo could also be awarded 20 per cent of his earnings – including future payments. But hey, he married her then he chose to humiliate her, so time to deal with the women scorned.
October 1, 200817 yr She knew what Ron was like long before they got together and took him on, baggage include, to then claim his philandering ways are a reason to leave him is absurd. True, that probably isn't the real reason, but it's the one that will work in a court of law. (think about the cabbages)

That he or she has had flings in the past is clearly not the issue, Jo is pissed off at him for running off with this young girl & parading her around in public. A fling she can deal with but clearly this is taking it too far so she has had enough. or simply creates an opportunity to go for the throat and the cash *** Jo, 53, could be entitled to half of Wood's estimated £70 million fortune, but as his executive assistant, his personal management assistant, joint director of his music company Rockyarch and company secretary for his painting business Scream Art, Jo could also be awarded 20 per cent of his earnings – including future payments. My exwife was company secretary but that did not mean she actually did an work - if she did then she is entitled to the money she earned and the argument that she is eligible to the greater share of his is not correct. But hey, he married her then he chose to humiliate her, so time to deal with the women scorned. And she married him for the same reasons and under the law gets not just a divorce but legalised vengeance. He should take Rod Stewarts advice and find the next beautiful women he meets, give her half his money and not bother to go through the actual marriage - Stewart figured it was less traumatic in the long run CB
October 2, 200817 yr My exwife was company secretary but that did not mean she actually did an work - if she did then she is entitled to the money she earned and the argument that she is eligible to the greater share of his is not correct. So do you know that she is also only all of the things listed in name alone then? But come on, it's like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted isn't it? Giving your wives control over business with fake titles when they don't actually do anything & then being upset, when the relationship breaks down that she may just use that power to gain financial benefit above & beyond what you deem fair?. To me that seems all that is happening here too, Jo is pissed off & as he gave her a lot of control over his business life, she is taking her legal teams advice & using it to her advantage. Doesn't make it right but it isn't against the law & again, he chose to give her that level of control & power & again, he chose to end their 20 odd year marraige by shacking up with another women so really, no one should be shocked that she is going for the jugular.
October 2, 200817 yr You don't need any reason for divorce in the UK. Sign of the times! Ehh..... there always has to be a reason given, even "I just want to" is still a reason.

Are you supporting the wife's position despite the fact that it 'Doesn't make it right'? If so, why - because all's fair in vengeance? Thankfully, I have not had the misfortune of having to endure divorce proceedings, but nearly everyone I know who has been through one has got a really bad shake. Some women play the system for all it's worth - going back for further snips when the ex-husband's financial situation unexpectedly improves - even though the women themselves have shacked-up with another guy. The test for settlement should be 50% of the contribution/acquisitions during the partnership only, plus provision for any children. Of course, it is not that simple and many women do their best to drain the trough dry.
October 3, 200817 yr My grievance in all this is simple. In divorce the settlement is rarely about what is right or fair but about getting as much as possible out of a sense of vengeance. This is fueled by lawers who seek to justify their fees by getting the maximum possible amount and urge their client to play hard ball. I do not condone what Ron Wood did but it was not a case of sneaking off for a bit of a fling. He is a man who has spent most of his life banging away on freely available women who seek him out. Jo is not an innocent party either and to portray her as such is an outright lie. I believe that she deserves to be taken care off as is fair but to take future earnings is in my opinion too much. That is akin to saying "I worked for this company for 20 years and decided to leave but I demand they pay my salary for life on what I would have earned if I was still there" CB
