Am I right in my assumption that I can renew my retirement extension up to 30 days prior to 'permitted to stay' date?

I. If yes-and I go early, will my extension be one year from date of application or one year from 'permitted to stay date'?

2.Does the renewal reset the 90 day report date or do I stay with the ''stapled'' report by date.
