Dear Friends,My Thai wife Has just entered the UK on a 2yr marriage visa,I would like to take her to New York (US) for a short break this December,What visa requirements does she need and how do we obtain.

I am not sure if we firstly need a return flight and accomodation booked before we proceed with her visa application.

She needs to apply for a B-2 Visa (Holiday visa). See also Visa Denials.

Visitor Visas - Business and Pleasure:

No assurances regarding the issuance of visas can be given in advance. Therefore final travel plans or the purchase of nonrefundable tickets should not be made until a visa has been issued.

Living in the UK as your wife she will get the visa almost 100% for sure. She would have no reason not to return.

I applied for a B2 visa from the US embassy in London a couple of weeks ago and was granted a 10 year multiple entry visa with no hassles. Didn't have any flights or hotels booked whatsoever although you'll need to have fill out where you are planning to stay whilst in the US.

Quite straight forward really. Just follow the instructions in the link given by Vinny. Though, if you are planning to go in December, you should schedule yourself an appointment ASAP (if it's not already too late).
