Looking For A 50mm F/1.8 Prime Lens For A Nikon D40

Featured Replies

Anyone know a decent store in BKK that sells these at a good price?

Thanks in advance.

It will not AF on the D40 though. Not too much of a problem though, my 50mm 1.4 is almost always on my D40.

Foto-File ... ground floor of MBK

Watch out for that focusing issue, as DOF will be very small at the wide apertures.

I guess manual does give you the best control, if your eyesight is still up to the mark. :o

this lens is AF only. D40 dont support AF.

this lens is seldom in stores because many buying it. you can go to pantip like photovision, la-ox in 3rd floor. this is around 3-4K brand new depending on how much you bargain.

good luck

dunno what shops you are looking but I have yet to find a decent photography shop that doesn't have at least one in stock, even in the crappy stores in Panthip i have seen plenty

AF only ?, you can use it manual focus

and be carefull which one you buy, ther is a 500/1.8 AF and a 500/1.8 D

you can find reviews at kenrockwell.com

You need to make sure the lens you get for your D40 is an AFs the D40 doesnt support the AF lens. I got a good deal on some lenses on Ebay. :o

The AF-S 50mm is really expensive.

Just buy the 1.8. Manual focus isn't that bad with a prime lens.
