hi all

bought a bike from the thapasit (misspell) rd auctions the other day . yamaha nouvea

but no book and has a khon kaen number plate.

they seemed to imply that the book was no problem and it takes 40 days for there ofices to do ti for me and they issue a book with a BKK number plate .

very odd, but maybee right.

question is , can i get a book myself from chonburi quicker? the only paperwork i seem to have is there official receipt for purchase . so i don't know even if i can drive the thing , lol .. no book = no insurance or tax . so if i get pulled by the cops they'll take it off me i guess .

i'd prefer to get a choburi/pattaya plate anyway. so how to do ?

Copy the details (cubic, weight, other figures) from another Nuovo, add your engine and frame number. Now go to get an insurance policy from any company, so you are at least 50% legal. For the new tax sticker you will need the book...

As long as the chassis number is shown on the receipt, Thai Visa Insurance can issue you with the insurance cover.

Keep a copy of the receipt with you and the police will accept that usually while the book is being prepared.

i've got the insurance now .. (ty thaivisa)

not sure if i bought the right one though .. lol

323 baht basic goverement one ..

it however says on the policy not for rent/hire and i was considering renting one out to someone.. i showed the policy to another company and they said it refered to taxi work ?? not to rental

would i not of been better with the 380 baht commercial version ? assuming i cannot change the policy though and would have to take a new policy and lose the pricely 323 baht i paid .. lol

tax .. tried to tax it today with the papers etc .. the tax office said i could not tax it as "computer says no" :o system said the number plate xfer had begun so i have to wait..

can i drive with no tax cert ? or will plod have a party with me.
