Virtual Insanity

Yup - that seems to be the correct link.

This is a part of the downside of the Internet - people who are so involved in the virtual world that they lose all sense of reality - they even believe these 'reality' shows on TV - and post more than 2,000 times on TV.

And change their frocks at least twice daily in their TV persona.

Amost as bad as surfing forums all day hoping someone has flamed you so you can lift your heart rate a little retaliating. :o

Nah - I ignore flaming.

I get it at work all the time, have to ignore it and respond politely.

Forums are my vent-valve, but always for a laugh or to give help, guidance and correct opinions (so that they match my own - always correct - opinions)

It's quite funny though, isn't it?

Jeez, I don't think we have to worry too much about global warming. The human race is heading so far up it's own rectum we won't be around in a couple of generations.

Yep, quite agree. :o

Ive played quite a few online games, and ive seen some craziness like this. Some positive sides to it is that some really have found love via games. I know of several couples who got to know each other through gaming then met up, then married. Personally im not into meeting someone in this way, but i dont knock it.

But, some people really do lose it, even going as far as hurting each other in real life. One game I played had a lot of filipino players that played in net cafes. One gang from one cafe ended up in a bloody fight with a gang from another cafe because of online killing. Couldnt believe it.

The other thing is men are often suckers for a female player. I dont disclose my sex online because im not into some grubby teenager or whoever getting off on his own imagination about me. What they often dont realise is that some men pretend to be female players in order to get free things or because they think its funny. A friend of my brothers even went as far as getting a picture of a pretty girl and creating a fake yim account and flirted with the guys from the game in return for getting some game items. He would laugh about it to his friends. He kitted himself out REALLY well in a short time, then, after he got what he wanted he transfered the items to his other character and killed her off.

Its a wibbly wobbly world of weirdness we live in...but thats kind of what makes it an interesting place.
