rott
"A FREAKING MONKEY COULD SEE THAT COMING!!"I wish people would stop denigrating monkeys. I didn't see any monkeys stuck in traffic. I don't think he was denigrating monkeys per se, but let's be honest they don't have a great reputation as forecasters of traffic flow, or urban planning. moo9
According to Thai Meteo that was only 49 mm or rain on Saturday (don't know where they measure). Ratchaburi for comparison got 145 mm that day! Imagine that in Pattaya!
Humphrey Bear
Here in Ca Mau (Vietnam) we have had more than 1 1/2 metres of rain since June - according to the records from the airport. It has seemed far more, because that rain is spread over every square metre, whereas in fact the water from the roofs of buildings, etc. is drained into the open areas. When you have a very built-up area such as Sukhumvit or Pattaya Tai, with more roof area than road area, then the volume of water directed into the drainage system is large and probably more than the capacity of the pipe system. When the pipes are clogged with rubbish, then there is no chance.
