I was hospitalised a few days ago and found to have a urethral stone.

The doctor didn't say much other than drink alot of water, take meds, and come back in a month.

It was mentioned to me by someone else that it will hurt just as much going out as it did passing through my urethra, but the doctor didn't say anything about that.

Can anyone tell me where I might be able to go to find out reliable information on this?

Although the internet is a resource for a lot of great information, it’s also riddled with misinformation too. I've had several friends with this condition (both kidney and urethral stones).

The advice you got jibes with what my friends were told.

They really don't do surgical intervention for this. Ultrasound (to break up the rock to hasten its passing) doesn't always work.

Drinks lots of water, and hopefully it will pass soon.

Why not visit urology at say Suan Dok or MacCormick

for advice ?

Wrote a long reply last night, but being new to posting, the message disappeared. I have used Dr. Sharin, Internal medicine for 8 years and his wife Dr. Savitri, pediatrician, for 8 year for my son. They speak peerfect English and have good office hours mornings and nights. Location is down past DK books about a block past Chiang Mai Commercial College. Just watch for the green sign and sign on the window.

He has a high number of foreign customers as well as Thais. Everyone I have referred have been highly pleased nd continue using him as ther Dr. Fees a little higher than the Doctor in the Box types who shotgun medicines without really knowing what their doing.

Had quite a similar problem last year, though not kidney stones (ureter canal problem), had a surgery at Lanna Hospital.

I was treated by a very good urologist (can give you his coordinates in PM if you wish).

So, as previously recommended in the other threads, just go to any hospital, Lanna, Suan Dok, Ram, etc..., depends where you live and get an appointment with an urologist. All the specialists in the aforementioned hospitals are very professional, no sweat
