Price Of Rents For Decent Apartment In Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

How much do rents go for apartments that have good accomodations by western standards? I am jsut one person so I don't need anything too big or fancy. From browsing craiglist I have seen nice looking apartments for very cheap, ass little as 3,000 baht/month (though most seem to be 5x that amount or more)

You will indeed find apartments for 3,000. Some people find them adequate, others do not. Depends if you are planning to improve on your former lifestyle or downgrade it.

In the West, people tend to judge you by your house, apartment, car. I find that to be much less true here, or, at least, I care a lot less.

A clean, comfortable room with bathroom is plenty for me. :o

3000 baht a month will deliver an upgraded lifestyle, while a 10,000 bill per month will, yes, downgrade one's lifestyle.

Probably true in light of world economic conditions. Save your money; spend it on the important things:

Wine. Women. Song. Or some other combination, whatever your predilections.

The end times may be coming....let's party! :o
