TommyThai Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 I heard a crazy thing just recently.... I heard a man (US citizen) talking in the asian market to a friend. He said he was using an Surety Bond (maybe Assurity Bond not sure of spelling) for Affidavit of support for his Thai fiancee's Visa. I think what he is talking about is "He" is bonded so if he can not provide for his wife when she comes to USA then the bond would pay whatever amount he got the bond for. Is it even possible? Is this totally crazy or has anyone heard of such a thing??? Normally a letter from employer, 6 months check stubs and most recent tax return. Thanks for any comments??? Tommy
thaihome Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 To my knowledge you cannot post a bond in lieu of the affidavit of support. Perhaps your friend is confusing this with the 1HB temporary work visa which requires a bond to be posted. TH
