Bangkok Electricity Cables Project Selected For International Photography Awards

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I took some photos of the ubiquitous Electricity Cables in and around Bangkok a while back, submitted the project to the International photography Awards and the next thing I know I am selected for the Best Of Show , which features the work of the best photographers worldwide for 2008.

Go figure.

Check out the images on the project page of my website. Comments welcome.

cheers,

Richard

If photography's going in that direction I figure I'll start strumming my Banjo again! :o

I like your silkworm stuff a lot.

I like your silkworm stuff a lot.

Thanks for the feedback and get out that Banjo :D

The silk project was in association with Jim Thompson up in Pak Dong Chai in Khorat. Took a few months to complete and was very interesting to do. Worth going up there to take a look if you are in the area. Also the food in that region is amazing! I thought I was well versed in Issaan food but some of the dishes up there are very unusual and aroi mark !

cheers,

Richard

I was there last year - great place as you say. It is indeed my intention to go back and look around a bit more.

p.s. got any finger-picks :o

Congratulations with the award.

As mentioned above your silkworm work is very impressive, the cable pictures is very different from the other work on your site, pretty crafty done I must add.

Thanks for the feedback. The website is very new and i am still not sure what direction to go in. I have a lot of other abstract work that i am thinking about adding but want to get the balance right between fine art and editorial. I think its okay at the moment keeping the fine art as a personal project.

Will see how it pans out in terms of making money (fingers crossed ) and then adjust the website content accordingly :o

Thanks again,

R
