Taxi Driver With Guns?

Featured Replies

Wasn't opposite Jungceylon, was it? There are other spots where you'll get up the tuktuk drivers' noses, but this is the most infamous of them. Last time I parked there (waiting for a friend who had to change something over in one of the shops), I got 'asked' and explained I was waiting for someone and would only be five minutes. Twenty minutes later, I left - no problem (but remained with the car).

There are several old threads about dramas with the TTM at this particular spot...

Not so much in Phuket but I was in Pattaya in February, one night parked near the tuk tuks of walking st and ate at the restaurant directly in front, not a word said to me. My wife and I sat there eating watching every other motorcycle pull up and told to leave by them... we finished dinner got on our bike and went home.

The next night we come to the exact same place for the same restaurant, i'm asked to move and as they all speak in thai i give a wave and head for dinner, the tuk tuk drivers get upset threaten to kill me and the shop owners from close by tell my wife i'd better move my bike.

Best option, move the bike/car. Alot safer than a trip to the hospital.
