Got Lazy Again In Pattaya

Featured Replies

Once again, as usual, my high ambitions of traveling around got a bit dimmed. I get so lazy once I am here. Just booked the day trip visa run with Key Visa, Soi LK Metro for 2100 baht.

This should be my longest stay in Thailand since I started coming. Never even needed a visa run before. I did extend 6 days when I was here earlier this year due to plane ticket problems.

I was thinking of getting up to Issan or Chaing Mai for a few days as I have not ventured up that way at all. I still might . Definitely a few nights in Bangkok. Tough to beat that cheap bus ride from pattaya to ekami and then hoof it over to the BTS station.

Let me know how the visa run goes. Sounds interesting.

Sure will. My friend did it and said the lunch buffet is at a casino and it is pretty good. I used Key Visa once before for a 7 day visa extension. They seemed competent and did it promptly and for a fair price.

You must really like Keyvisa. The last 3 posts read like a badly written script in a advert

Thanks. Does that mean all 3 of us can go down to Key Visa now?

Well, sorry you didn't like it. I am not a big fan of key visa. As I said, I have only used them once for the trivial 7 day visa extension but have heard decent things about them from people I know and from some posters on Thaivisa. If you feel like it was an advert, then by all means avoid the place and take your business elsewhere. Goodness. Some people just are not happy.

And always taking a negative view of everything. How boring.

man. I think he needs a soapie. I am killing time online waiting until they open in a bit and then I am heading up towards Big C! Make it an early night tonight because the van comes to the hotel between 6 and 0630 tomorrow morning

You'll be lucky if they get there by 7. Don't get a seat over the back wheels or you'll have a sore ass when you get home. Don't forget to let us know what time they get there.

Roger that. They just called me on my Mobile to confirm for tomorrow's pickup. 0620 she said. At least they are not like the airlines and trying to tell every body that all 100 flights depart at the same time or in this case that everybody gets picked up at the same time!

I'd pay more and get a van with only 6 seats if I were you.

You don't need a visa company t get a 7 day extension - just go to immigration.

At least they will tell you a price for this service, something they will not do for their main business service.

Made the visa run to Cambodia today. Service was fine. The van only had 7 people in it. Not crowded at all. No road traffic worth mentioning. The Thai girl was quite nice that went along with the driver. I have no idea what city we actually went to. One small casino. Tiny little town. Fair buffet. Red Pork with Rice will keep me happy. The Cambodian/Thai girls inside the casino were quite attractive. There was no visa processing line. Passports were stamped and ready by the time we finished snacking.

Only problem was the van had a really bad gasoline smell inside. Don't know if there was a spare can venting in the back or what. If I had one more day on my visa I would have not gotten on the van but I had to make the run as scheduled and unlikely we would have gotten anything resolved starting at 0630 in the morning. I went straight away to Key Visa when done and politely complained. Of course, nothing changed. Too bad. The smell did make the ride a bit unpleasant.

Round trip from hotel pickup at 0640 and back by 1500. I would do it again. I will send them an email to help remind them of the problem. The world is not perfect, but the mission was accomplished. 30 more days in Thailand.

Doesn't sound too bad at all. I made the same trip myself one time. After that, I promised myself I'd get a visa next time I came here to avoid having to do it again. A major pain.

Alright, now get your lazy ass moving, and get out of that shit-hole. See some more of Thailand. Your travel ideas sound good. Anything has got to be better than that sewer. Have some fun.

Ive used Key Visa several times and always had a pleasant journey..

Yep. the trip was shorter than I expected and pickup and drop off were fine. Just that gas smell in the van. All is good.

1st class visas eave at 7am and get you back at jut after 2pm usually with 6 in a van for Bt2400/2500. NO waiting at the border, breakfast before and something decent to eat when you return.
