Hello,

My Thai wife and our five month old son who was born in Australia and carries an Australian passport entered Thailand with the intention of a three week stay. They have now decided to stay on as I (Australian) will meet them later and stay for one month and my wife and son will stay further after I have left before returning to Australia.

My question is; can my son extend his visa while in Thailand or will he be required to leave and then re-enter after obtaining a 90 day visa?

Also, if he were to overstay, even though there is no fine for minors, will it cause problems for him on future visits?

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks

He can go with a parent and get a Visa if you want.

Personally I would not bother . As you say there is no fine. Immigration do not seem too worried about it.
