Will marraige effect her?

Sorry, this is not a VISA question but a legal point I want to clarify about Registering a Marriage in Thailand. [ may be this has implications to VISA and Residency Applications as well]

I read in some of other sections that some have indicated that if a Thai Girl Register the Marriage to a Farang legally in Thailand, she will loose her rights to own Property in Thailand. Therefore, they say, it is advisable to register the Marriage outside Thailand.

I will be very much appreciated if you can explain me with details, what rights she will loose if she registers her Marriage in Thailand to a Farang husband.

I am not a Thai Citizen and my GF is Thai. We are planning to get married legally in December 2003 and still thinking which country we should register the Marriage.

Thank you.

Your wife to be will lose no property rights whatsoever, and as a result of a recent Court decision, she can, if she wishes. retain her Thai family name.
None.  This was an old policy rather than a law and the policy has been changed.  She will continue to have all rights of any Thai citizen.  The only change will be that she must now declare any money used to purchase new property is hers alone and you agree that you understand you can not inherit it.
Can the son or daughter of a Thai/Falang marriage inherit the land owned by the mother?  Are the rights of these children limited in any way?
