two words Water Cannons.... When those outside see the thugs getting leveled buy water cannons and fire trucks/hoses it will be "Mommy Mommy I want to go back to 200 baht a day in the fields rather that 500 baht and food and clothes to be a PAD protester!

100% agree.. Water cannons and (non lethal, chinese exploding) tear gas.. Would have stopped this thing in its tracks back when they invaded gov house..

Sure they have the right of assembly.. The right of peaceful protest.. But that doesnt include ruining the country, making 100's of 1000's of the poorest suffer and attacking the transport lines that mostly effect non Thai travellers.

Secondly there should be police blockades... Fine every protester for violating court orders.. Something high but manageable, few 1000 bahr per person per time they are caught.. That would drain the PAD and its disuptive supporters of finances and stop this nonsense.

If the PAD want to control politics perhaps they should put thier considerable energies into a real platform of ideas, somethig a bit more advanced than "Thaksin bpai", to actually appeal to the rural majority and factor them into the politicial process.. Then maybe they might win elections by fair means through fair representation.

Water cannons can only be used outside the terminal building, so it's use would be limited. Pepper gas would be much better to clear the buildings maybe together with stun grenades.
