Suspension Of International Postal Services

WARNING - INTERNATIONAL POSTAL SERVICES SUSPENDED

I have been advised by my neighbour, who happens to be the Postmaster in Surin's main Post Office, that all Air Mail and EMS International Services are suspended. This is because of the closure of the two Bangkok Airports by the PAD protesters. To date, there are over 10,000 letters held-up in Bangkok (Suan Plu (spelling)) due to the closure of the airports. With Christmas but four weeks away this will have an adverse affect on all those Christmas cards that are sent back and forth at this time of the year - not to mention those Christmas parcels.

It might be an idea to warn family and friends that these postal services are on-hold until further notice.
