With all the problems occurring here in Thailand at the moment, someone or something was smiling down on us on Monday Night. All eyes were directed towards the skies to witness a rare event.

For those interested in the technicalities of the event which resembled a smiling face, the planet Venus was lying 2 degrees south of Jupiter and the crescent moon appeared directly beneath both planets which are the brightest planets in the sky.

Here in Pattaya the phenomenon caused a stir and many believe this is a sign from above for all Thai’s to forget about the troubles and make peace with each other. For those that missed the smile, I am afraid you will have to wait another 44 years before it returns on November 18th 2052.
