Boat Rides In Chalong Or Rawai

Featured Replies

My young son has a couple of days off next week (from school) so I was thinking about taking him and my wife out on a boat in Chalong and/or Rawai.

In Pattaya, there are inexpensive water taxis between Pattaya and one of the nearby major islands. Do they have these water taxis here too or do I need to charter a long-tail boat on my own?

I just want to take my family on the boat for a short distance, have lunch and then return.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Go down to Rawai beach road, if you have a thai gf/wife, let her arrange it. last month, 8 of us went out for 4 hours around 3 islands , and it cost us 2000 B and tipped him 500b, quite reasonable i think. ( This is a long Tail )

we paid 1200 baht for a full day in a long tail

we only went to coral island - so no expense incurred from extra island hopping as in the above post.

He seemed pleased. Its only 15 mins ride from Rawai to Coral island and then he slept on his boat all day

hope this helps

Theres a speedboat guy I use.. Not done it in last few months but usually 2500 for a day over to coral island, more if he uses more fuel touring..

Speedboat well worth it over the long tail IMO.. Especially if theres a few of you or you have kids.

I often use Raya Divers for a trip to an island, Raya Wai, spend the day on the beach.

The boat ppl take ya for a hike around the island, lunch is available.

Easy as, I am 70 about, no problem, great day.

IT is the first BIG dive shop on the right going down to the pier.

Run by farangs, Kiwi guy and a Finish guy.

Went out to Coral (Banana Beach) yesterday with the family and some friends from Rawai Pier. 1200 for the day on longtails and there were 6 of us. Guys had "taxi" signs so you can't miss them - just to the left of the pier.

Also 700 for Koh Bon but this apparently is not as nice as Coral as the snorkling is not that great (never been there to see for myself though). The object of our day was to show the niece some fish and coral never dissapoints.
