My US friend wants to take a four month holiday here. On the tourist visa site of the thai embassy, it says a tourist visa is good for 60 days. What do you do if you want to holiday for 120 days???

Get a double entry tourist visa.

When arriving he's going to get a 60 day stamp.

This can be extended for 30 days at any immigration. (cost 1900bt)

Go for a border run to activate second entry and get another 60 day stamp.

Extend for another 30 days.

60+30+60+30=190 days

Your friend can go to activate his second entry after 60 days and save some money.
